Non, sous Mandriva ou autre RedHat-alike comme tu dis, vois le fichier
rc.local où là tu peux très bien ajouter la ligne

/sbin/brltty

Et si ta config brltty.conf est correcte ça démarrera au bon moment, cad au
boot.
 
Alors pour Ubuntu, le fichier doit s'y trouver;
sinon voici celui de l'Ubuntu LTS de ma compagne:

# This is a configuration file for /etc/init.d/brltty; it allows you to
# perform common modifications to the behavior of the brltty daemon

# Arguments to pass to BRLTTY

Je met le fichier en pj, tu peux le copier sous le nom brltty dans
/etc/default/ (mode root root)
et redémarrer.

Et nous tenir au courant!
