If I get these screenshots right, the US keyboard does not have that
NONUSBACKSLASH key at all, i.e. there is no key between the left shift
key and the Z key:

I can get the backslash with US TOS by pressing a different key (the
one between the ESC key and TAB on my keyboard), so I assume the
modification that I did should be fine.
