Hi thanks for the ST image, I was able to duplicate the problem and fix it.cpu freq for Mega STE defaulted to 16 MHz, while in fact it should be 8 MHz when computing sound samples per VBL (cpu freq can be 8 or 16 MHz for Mega STE)
Note : intro music doesn't use DMA sound in fact :) it's ym2149 playing samples using MFP timer. I think DMA sound is used only later during the game.
The slightly different sound between STF and STE under Hatari in that case is because STE mode as an extra step to mix YM and DMA, even when DMA is off.
