On archlinux we have CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS equal -march=i686 -mtune=generic -O2 -pipe. So we could have them equal -march=i486 -mtune=generic or -march=i486 -mtune=i486.

Well, I suggested almost the same not long ago. It will greatly increase compilation speed.

Also, CFLAGS and LDFLAGS will be useful.
One small question - what CPUs do we target SliTaz? looks like plain ol' 386. Why not use somethung like -march=pentium -mtune=core2?
