 I did it also .I added USE="xinerama" , in Debian dev packages of
xinerama is a dependency for muse.

QUESTION: If you open a terminal and run top what processes are at the
top of the list while you are waiting for Muse to display? Maybe there
is a clue there?

Solved, after emerge  =media-sound/museseq-0.8.1-r2 , it was r1 before.
The weird  is  that Zyn begin to work also .
I think that the xinerama USE of the qt3 did effect and I've been too precipitous when I wrote the last message ,probably I could have restart the X system before reply you :-[ .
