Many thanks Jerome and Thomas for the merging of the updated OSX UI.
I've created a new preliminary release build which can be downloaded
from here: https://troed.ddns.net/f/2ae9582847/
I've briefly verified that it contains the new UI and it should be (as
"always") 10.5+ and x86/i386.

Hi Troed,

thanks for this test version.

It works fine on my Mac Pro, the audio on Falcon is, as expected, a lot
better.

But rather amusing, my 8 core 2.2 GHz Xeon system can't emulate the DSP
fast enough. Small DSP programs are ok (Protracker style players) but
stuff like ACE and Graoumf is a no-no. 7 cores are idle, 1 core
overflows :) I wish some day that different parts of the Falcon
emulation can be put to it's own thread (CPU, DSP, Videl..).

Hi

I also see this limititation, this is a problem with modern cpu with multi cores : if you require a lot of cpu power at once, then you're stuck, this is only ok if you want to run several programs in parallel.

As for having a thread for cpu/dsp/videl/... it's unlikely to happen : it would be a huge loss of performance to keep several threads synchrnosised with each other to emulate this inner component on every opcode.

Possible threading would be maybe to have a screen rendering thread separated from the rest of the emulation.

Nicolas
