Yes, these functions do not check the global
ConfigureParams.System.nMachineType, but a local parameter
instead. So using the Config_IsMachine*() functions here would
change the the way the function is working.

I'd like to avoid nested dialogs if possible, since it slows you down
when you want to get to these options... hmm, might be ok in this case
since these are "advanced settings" that you normally should not need
to change ... got to ponder on that a little bit longer...
