I would prefer 4.2.1.1 personally, but just because date or revision
seem redundant. SVN already maintains the mapping to both date and
revision number:
http://alleg.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/alleg/allegro/tags/
And a single increasing number looks cleaner.
