Sounds like a good idea, but I think an improved way to set graphics mode would
be nice to have in Allegro proper. Doesn't everybody make their own wrapper to
simplify this stuff?

I don't like this. Reminds me of the MS Plus packages you can get for Windows,
that usually only add a bunch of junk.

I don't like this either. Those who don't want to use these routines obviously
won't see them as enhancing their Allegro experience.

This is nice! I use this for my personal Allegro extensions. It can be
shortened "alex", which is a great prefix/namespace, IMHO. :)
