I was using 0.98. I just installed 0.99 but I get the same results
(although slightly less often - but it may be just fluke)

It introdiced a bit of flickering on the display (that's my fault), but
otherwise the result is the same.

Strangely enough, Allegro locks up inside _update_8_to_15... (I'm
running in 16 bpp btw)
If I run Zasx outside the debugger, then I can successfully switch (but
then again, there is no locking problem - but I can't debug the
program).
