"install-info --delete" works with my version, and this is what Allegro
uses with djgpp. But given what a mess just installing the info pages seems
to have turned into, it seems like a fairly safe guess that not all distros
will support this switch in the same way :-)
Perhaps we should split this into two targets, install-info and
install-info-dir?
