Hi Pascal,I've tried using Xvesa -listmodes and it doesn't list any widescreen modes under VirtualBox, or on the EeePC. From what I've read, for the EeePC, the 915 graphics need to be fooled into thinking that 800x480 is a valid resolution. I'm not sure if/how that is done with Xvesa.
I won't try the patch - as it won't make any difference if the modes aren't there. But I would say having the list populated by -listmodes makes more sense anyway. Certainly I ran it on a notebook the other month that had 1440 resolution which wasn't in the release back then...

I have the same problem on the EeePC. I guess that's a limitation of Xvesa/drivers. I understand you don't want to be bugged about the screen resolutionHi Spode, Does this patch help you ? It uses `Xvesa -listmodes' to build tazx resolutions list. My 2p, -pascaleach time you boot - but if you're generating a new filesystem, it might be for distribution - in which case, you don't want the screen resolution already set? I tried adding it to screen.conf but to no avail.Xvesa limitations... try: 'Xvesa -listmodes' to see all supported screen size on the current card. If some screen resolutions are missing in tazx, just let me know. /etc/screen.conf exist to avoid tazx being executed on each boot, the used screen size is set in /etc/slim.conf (Tazx automaticly configue Slim).Spode- Christophe --- SliTaz GNU/Linux Mailing list.
