As far as I know you accept pull requests against gentoo/gentoo, not gentoo-mirror/gentoo. The latter is just an automated mirror that is maintained by a bot. The equivalent of the former, for proaudio, is the SVN repo (or our GitLab repo if you go with the fork). So a pull request against gentoo-mirror/proaudio is meaningless, because who would respond to it and how would it make its way back to SVN? It's just a repo maintained by a bot.

I think what I might do is create my own overlay (but if someone else is onboard with the idea of a clean start, by all means let me know and we can collaborate), get the packages that I care about / can test in there as a staging ground, making sure they can be built and work as intended and are mergeable against the main repo, and then just progressively break them out and try to upstream them. I did some cleanup on the main proaudio overlay git fork, but I just don't have the time to properly maintain the whole thing and clean up the mess.
