I got a similar midi issue with my firewire card.
But with freebob the midi doesn't work at all and with ffado just the midi In is functionning, but I got an horrible "buzzz" with thee latest ffado ....

I don't really know if it is related to my kernel or some packets installed or removed, because if I remember I tried with an older kernel (2.6.24) and I got the same issue.

Is there some options in the kernel you MUST enable to have the midi working?

cheers,

Oh well, I don't use MIDI at the moment, and it booted and worked fine
for me this morning (whereas previous 26.6 kernels would hardlock my
entire computer after a while). Will have to check and see that normal
realtime operations are working when I get back home from work, but it
looks like a successful upgrade for me. Will just have to start hoping
for a fix when I get my new MIDI keyboard (which I can't use until I
get a new interface anyway)
