Re: [proaudio] Portable Audio-Interface

I'm in a similar boat, and I've been considering two options: the echo
indigo io (2 in, 2 out, cardbus, ~$150), and the maya 44 (4 in, 4 out,
usb, ~$100). There are also the digigram vxpocket series( 2 or 4
channels, cardbus, $400+). I've read that the cards work well, while
the maya reportedly *should* work (haven't found any first hand
reports). I'm leaning towards the indigo IO myself. Whatever you end
up with, I'd be interested in hearing how it works out for you, and
I'll do the same.

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a portable audio interface like Digidesign's mbox
(which does not work on Linux AFAIK).

RME seems to be among the best supported ones, but they are above my
financial scope. (I'm a studentent..and, well...I think you know what
that means ;)

It should have a PCMCIA (or Firewire if that's the only option)
interface and a few inputs (preferably 2+xMic, 2+xLine). I need at least
three independent analog inputs. Digital In, SPDIF or anything like that
is not required.

Does anyone of you have experience with these devices?

Thanks in advance,
Philipp
