I don't know whether EmuTOS supports it, I only know that HDDRIVER does ;-).

But why would you create just a single partition on memory cards that have a
much higher capacity? A single FAT16 partition in DOS format cannot have
more than 2 GB. I think it's uncommon to use not more than 2 GB of a memory
card with a higher capacity. But with no partition table and a FAT16
filesystem you cannot do that.

Well, that's the name of this format. This is not my invention. It's related
to drives like the LS-120 supporting media that have the size of floppy disk
but a capacity of 120 MB.

I would not have expected that SCSI-2 changes anything, or anything visible.
But Linux, just like most drivers for the Atari, is obviously supporting
newer standards than SCSI-1 and even makes use of (like HDDRIVER) commands
from newer standards than SCSI-2. This is why configuring SCSI-2 is a safe
bet, SCSI-1 is not.
