I forgot to mention: I have no idea why for IDE no table is required. I have
never heard of Linux not requiring a partition table.
But maybe for IDE it supports the "super floppy" format, just like HDDRIVER
does. This format does not have an MBR, but is really exotic.

Strangely, I think that I already posted all this information some months
ago ;-).
