My Hatari config is attached. I also get this exception when switching from
TT to Falcon emulation in the Hatari UI, just be changing ROM and System.

As Thomas stated, this isn't a bug in Hatari, but in your Linux setup.

ALSA pulseaudio plugin, and apparently also portaudio pulseaudio plugin,
assert if they don't find pulseaudio.

Either disable pulseaudio plugin from ALSA & portaudio, or run
pulseaudio daemon.
