Any further suggestions?  Both SDL1 and SDL2 versions crash immediately after 
issuing a message "Selected real Joystick 0 unavailable ...".

I thought perhaps the SDL dll was bad (it's 532K vs about 320K for the 1.8.0 
version), but I tried replacing it for the SDL1 tests and it didn't help.
