Could you describe a scenario where you get this error or stuck keys 
results on real HW ? What do you mean by "error signal" ? An error 
packet sent by the hd6301 ?

Note that the HD6301 only has 16 bytes in its circular buffer to report 
keys to the host cpu through the acia. I would need to have a look at 
the HD6301 ROM to see how it handles simultaneous keys, but the very 
small amount of available ram (less than 128 bytes) is certainly the 
cause of this limiting behaviour.
