AFAIK removing the shortcut is what fixes it, not applying half of
the solution. I would advise you to revert the patch to gui.c (which
doesn't compile) and leave this until somebody takes the time to
explore the consecuences (somebody may depend on this behaviour). On
the meantime the workaround for the shortcut is enough.
