Well, this isn't fixed. Does anyone know how all the misc/dep*.sh
scripts are supposed to work?


How do you mean?

What's the reason gcc -MMD can't be used?
I wanted to look at this - but never got around to.

Maybe it was to avoid a dependency on `gcc', as opposed to some other`cc'? But getting rid of the dep*.sh scripts would be really good.
