I wouldn't object to there being a configure option. Most programs I seedon't use -fomit-frame-pointer by default, but given the shortage ofregisters on the x86, it does have good use in optimizations.

P.S. Doesnt it mess up the backtraces too?


That's part of what the debug lib is for.
