Ugh, just one? Have you heard of cvsutils? I'm talking about the
Debian package, based on http://www.red-bean.com/cvsutils/. There
are other cvsutils projects named on the net.
This one provides a "cvsdo" command which simulates locally actions
which would otherwise require connection to the server. The nice
thing is that you can type "cvsdo add file", which won't add the
file, only mark it in the CVS subdirs as something to be added. Then,
using "cvs diff -N" will include the to be added files in the patch,
making it a single unity.
Other than that, your proposed changes look like something which
had to be done eventually.
