As the MIT licence and the gift-ware licence doesn't conflict, I
wouldn't change the original text (I really like its wording :-) ). So
I'm recomending another version.

BTW what exactly means this:
"The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included
in all copies or substantial portions of the Software"
in the MIT licence? Does it mean that now I cannot e.g. make some
version of the library under other licence? (I don't want to do anything
like this, I'm just curious.)
