i read through it too.
its an open (democratic / free speech / etc) forum,  you will never get 
united opinion.

we will see progress, because those that do most of the development work 
all follow a similar political agenda.

only when that agenda is brought into question do we have problems, and it 
is not likely to change directions as rapidly as has been suggested on a.cc

the boat might be taking on some water, but there are plenty of hands at 
the ready with buckets.
