Hi,

I was considering these options (the newer interfaces) before anything was done:

1. DDRAW 7 support (this means faster transprarent / color-key blitting)
2. DINPUT8  support 
3. DSOUND9 support

But it was suggested that the current set of interfaces _is_
sufficient for the current functionality.

I like your suggestion, but unless many people have a common idea,
nothing will be done, again.
