Here is Tom's answer:
"It appears that his mail server was blacklisted at one point but is no
longer blacklisted. About a month ago, I had to implement DNS-based
blacklisting on the canvaslink.com mail server (as well as virus scanning
of attachments.) It has proven extremely effective with very few cases
of innocent mail being blocked.
I intend to make an exception for the mailing lists so that mail sent to
them is not screened by the blacklisting system. This is because they
already reject mail from non-subscribers, which effectively blocks all
spam. This change should happen in the next 2-3 weeks"
