 - QNX: ok (QNX RtP 6.1, gcc 2.95.2)
 - Linux: ok (Mandrake 8.0, gcc 2.91.66, gcc 2.96, gcc 3.1.1)
            ok (Slackware 8.0, gcc 2.95.3)
 - MSVC: ok (MSVC 5, 6)
 - BeOS: ok (BeOS PE 5)
 - Watcom C/C++ (DOS): ok (Watcom 10.6, Watcom 11c*)

 3 secondary platforms:
 - FreeBSD: mostly ok (FreeBSD 4.5)
 - Solaris: mostly ok (Solaris 8 ?)
 - IRIX: mostly ok (IRIX 6.5)

* with the known linking bug.

One pending bug: examples/exlights.c on all platforms.
