Are you sure? I think a trailig 'g' should be ok: it merely means that
sed should repeat the command on the rest of the line until no more
matches are found. OTOH, I don't know what the problem would be
otherwise, unless unix make expands "\\" to "\" or something, before
giving it to sed. It works with djgpp's tools, so this seems hairy.
