I agree with both sides. It's silly that in some mail clients 
you mail either the author or the list _and_ the author, and I've also
made the mistake of replying to the author only several times.

However, a decent mail client (like mutt, which I use :-) has a
command to reply to the list. Also it's little work (and good
practice) to check your recipients before you send...

I think the original argument for this list setting (prevent lots of
traffic, make people _think_ before they post to AD) is still
valid. This is not a list to write to with every subject, a little
thinking and an extra action before posting doesn't hurt.

Unless the general opinion about the status and purpose of this list
has changed, I suggest we keep it the way it is, and close off this
thread as it really is off-topic anyway :-)
