ABI compatibility between one release and itself is actually not very
difficult to guarantee ;-) But yes, Allegro 4.0.x shoud be binary compatible
with 4.0.0

That's not really the problem: MSVC, MinGW and BC++ have always been able to
use the same DLL for a given WIP version.
