Hi Craig, just a quick note here: Since you get the same
problem in console mode and X mode, it does imply that the
conflict lies in the code that's shared between them, which is
approximately the timer code (SIGALRM handling), the joystick
driver and the (Allegro) sound drivers. I think the latter is
the prime suspect, but since I don't know that much about either
the X specific code or the sound system, I suggest you keep
posting to the conductors list or to one of the other lists,
rather than to me directly (maybe you meant to, but didn't
notice that replies on the conductors list default to going to
the poster).
