I fixed the LiveUSB creation in TazPanel, thanks for the report:

To create a liveCD please use tazlito-wiz from the System Tools menu
--> Create LiveCD. I will remove writefs from TazPanel, guess it was
not a good idea. It work for me on my HD install but like you reported
not in Live mode
