Hi,
i've add lot of troubles to get X working with an ati radeon 4890;
after many trials,
i've used tazx and setup vesa driver (not ati!): x worked, but not so
mouse nor keyboard;
so i needed to reboot (power button), then copy arch's 10-evdev.conf
to quickly get mouse and keyboard work
(don't know why tazx->ati: screen res bad, keyboard ok; tazx->vesa:
screen good, keyboard-mouse bad)
What do you think about enabling CONFIG_MAGIC_SYSRQ to gently reboot ?
