Hi again,
I found now various things:
My image seems to work with the old stable kernel (2.6.25.5), everything else
on the most recent version.
A pure core flavor seems also to work with the newest kernel. Maybe there is
a limit to the ramfs size or something in the new one? I am trying to track
this down right now.
The core flavor has .xinitrc missing in the tux home directory.
