Sawfish 1.9 includes a mate-int module, changing WM in MATE as in GNOME 2,

Cinnamon is a fork of GS (GNOME-Shell), there I guess it does not work with

Cinnamon. GS uses libmutter to utilize itself as the WM, so does Cinnamon

I'd say (I highly doubt they changed stuff so deep down).
