I personally use Fluxbox, but having XFCE4 as an option also would be great for those used to a more complete Gnome/KDE interface.

Conky should definitely be available; I use it extensively w/ Fluxbox and my audio apps. If you do indeed include it, let me know and I can send you my Conky configuration scripts and related bash scripts. It displays tons of information regarding the JACK server's status, along withof other useful info.

An installer option would be absolutely indespensible; it would certainly make it easier to re-use multiple machines. Along that vein of thought, maybe there can be a seperate installer/LiveCD boot option for a stripped down netjack slave? Imagine being able to boot all those old clunkers off of some liveCDs, and having a (more or less) instant Gentoo Audio Cluster?

Perhaps a Backing Store function could be available, similar the the Gentoo-based SystemRescueCD? Not sure if it would be worth the implementation, but could be useful..

Again, let me know if you need any assistance w/ the Fluxbox or Conky configuration, if you decide to include those. I've put way too much time into tweaking mine for Audio use, and would love to share it with everyone.
