No, it's not a good idea, since the Echo-Audio driver is opensource and
not mantained by Echo audio at all.
This is the homepage of the mantainer (you can find it on the alsa
project site, anyway): http://www.webalice.it/g_pochini/ead/
Take a look if you find any useful information and try to send him an
email (he's always been very quick and friendly when I needed support)
