That test was done with the latest code from git (the wip 2.6.0) merged into the android build.
Android midi support was added before portmidi so it does it's own thing.
I also tested the latest archlinux hatari build (2.5.0) -> portmidi -> yamaha keyboard and that was in sync too.
I couldn't get the raw-midi device version of hatari working with my yamaha (although other midi programs like rosegarden works fine without portmidi)..

Thanks for the video! Are you using PortMidi or raw MIDI device file build of Hatari? (I.e. do you give Hatari a device name, or device file path?) And which Hatari, SDL2 and PortMidi version is being used? - Eero On 1.5.2025 8.07, D C wrote: > Haven't been following hatari these days but noticed this in my junk email and haven't been on the forum for a while (can't login anymore for some reason). > > But I was curious and tested it out on a real machine at the same time as hatari on android and the timing seems to be in sync for me. > > Falcon -> usb midi -> linux (fluidsynth) > > I turn off the volume on the tablet every now so it's easier to hear that it's in sync. > (there's an occasional random note from linux-fluidsynth maybe caused by linux on my laptop) > > https://mega.nz/file/GxU1CD4Q#GuIdhHdoozwWC8ZqrzMIaHlp_KrGScfs7c5aDNzJndQ > > > ________________________________ > From: Nicolas Pomarède <npomarede@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Tuesday, 22 April 2025 6:34 AM > To: hatari-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <hatari-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: Re: [hatari-devel] MIDI slowness issue in Atari forum? > > Le 21/04/2025 à 19:43, Eero Tamminen a écrit : >> Hi, >> >> Does anybody have any idea about the possible reasons why MIDI from >> Hatari would be _consistently_ too slow on some setups: >> https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=477795#p477795 >> >> ? > > Hi > > I saw this thread, but I don't really know what could cause this.
