From what I see, it's related to TOS timer D that runs very fast at
boot with earlier tos version (timer ctrl=1 data=2) and this messes

there could be many causes to the hang you saw and having timer-d at
boot caused the problem Christian and I saw.
But the fix I made is not limited to timer D only, it's just that the
case of timer d at boot was very reproducible and other combinations of
timer could cause the same hang, but less frequently.
