Usually, ncurses relies on a terminal database that is loaded from external files (/usr/share/terminfo normally on linux boxes). Maybe that database is not installed, or not found, and ncurses just assumes some "dumb" terminal?" I'm not sure how that is implementedon windows, but surely not by a hardcoded, absolute path. Typically, that is looked up relative to the location of the dll.
