I can also reproduce it when using an empty floppy disk like this:

hatari --tos ~/atari/tos/tos104de.rom --vdi 1 --vdi-planes 2 --vdi-width 640 --vdi-height 480 ~/atari/disks/free720k.st.gz

(I've remove the default hatari.cfg before running Hatari, so
everything else is using the default values)
