In Seamonkey Images can be turned off with:
Edit > Preferences > Privacy & Security > Images > Do not load any images

Firefox must have similar functionality also.

Furthermore, ASCII art is reasonable because the images in Hatari's
documentation already look like ASCII art and can be implemented with
the <pre> tag.
