Well, I saw that mail, but I don't have a special opinion on that
question. I mean, to get it really right, you have to implement proper
cache emulation. Until then, no matter what you do, either always using
the cache-cycles or always using the non-cache-cycles will certainly
make some programs work while other don't work.
