[crisos] svn darwinfox won't compile

[ Thread Index | Date Index | More lists.tuxfamily.org/crisos Archives ]

Hello Claudio,

After downloading darwinfox from svn (r132) I dont'get to compile the
openwrt anyhow.

I also tried to download older versions of darwin fox, wich I used to
compile my custom images and used to work, but they didn't compile
either.

Maybe there were some changes in the openwrt trunk, if this is not the
case, I really don't know what the problem could be.

I am still a little bit confused about the procedure, so maybe this
time I will understand it one time for all.

This is what I'be been doing

> svn co svn://svn.tuxfamily.org/svnroot/crisos/svn/target/darwinfox

The latest revision seems to be 132

I also did the following, in a different folder

> svn up -r 127

After that, correct me If I am wrong, I should do make. The README
says that I should do make patch, but if i do so, i get an error
because the openwrt folser is not yet present.
So, first of all i type make

> make V=99

After some compling, the menuconfig pops up., and I select the ETRAX
LX100 architecture. Since a couple of revisions ago, it seems that,
after selecting the architecture, a lot of packages and library
(virtually all of them ) are selected by default with a <M> flag. I am
pretty sure that this wasn't the case with the lasopenwrt trunk i
managed to compile, so i think that a lot of error i get compiling
comes from this fact.

Should I deselect some packages? Which ones are the minimus ones to be
able to build the trunk?

If I select the Image Builder, and leave the default settings, i get
compile errors. the last lines of the compile lof are in the
attachment

I tried to do

> make patch

even if the openwrt wasn't compiled properly, but the i got the same
error (fortunately, i would say)

Is it correct to do a make patch only after a successful make?

A friend of mine also tried the svn version soing my same steps and
got the same error
So, that's the end of this gigantic mail, I hope that my questions
will be useful to someone somehow.

We plan to use CrisOS to develop our software for FOX Board, and we
will also try to compile external modules in the way you showed me in
a previous mail. Unfortunately, until we get the openwrt trunk to
compile, we cannot even make a simple helloworld.

Thank you in advance for your help, I know this isn't your job

Enrico
