Hi again,
I'm currently trying to use a USB2Serial-Adapter with FTDI232BM-Chipset.
I compiled support for it into the kernel, the module gets loaded as
dmesg states:
drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial support registered for FTDI
USB Serial Device
usbcore: registered new interface driver ftdi_sio
drivers/usb/serial/ftdi_sio.c: v1.4.3:USB FTDI Serial Converters Drive
However when I plug the USB-device in, the driver doesn't recognize the
device and no /dev/ttyUSB* is created. Anybody has an idea what I might
be doing wrong?
This is the output of dmesg after plugging in the converter (a
development board with a ftdi-usb2serial-chipset really)
crisv10_irq dbg: ctr_status_irq, controller status: host_mode started
crisv10_irq dbg: ctr_status_irq, controller status: host_mode started
running
usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using hc-crisv10 and address 4
usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
Just to show how it looks like on my linuxbox where the device is working:
[100062.098167] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and
address 4
[100062.320844] usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[100062.323798] ftdi_sio 2-1:1.0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected
[100062.323838]
/build/buildd/linux-2.6.24/drivers/usb/serial/ftdi_sio.c: Detected FT232BM
[100062.323991] usb 2-1: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached
to ttyUSB0
Greetings
Chris
