Sans vouloir insister, et vu que je pense que le blème n'est pas lié à
Debian en soi, je me sent néanmoins moins seul que de voir que d'autres
rencontrent des soucis similaires, voir les mêmes;
j'avais planifié installer une Deb ou Ubuntu chez un voisin, beh je pense
honnêtement qu'il est sain de reporter cela car ce serait une bien mauvaise
pub pour les LL si déjà une chose aussi essentielle que l'audio ne
fonctionne pas bien! Car je n'imagine pas un valide habitué à W$ se
contenter de n'avoir que l'image sur YouTube ou le lightshow de Totem au
lieu du son quand il diffuse ses mp3!
Ce qui m'inquiète est plus le silence des dits spécialistes, et une doc qui
même mise en application donne un résultat pire que si on ne touchait à
rien! enfin comme d'hab faut se donner bcp de courage ... et croire en une
fin heureuse!!! en attendant c'est pas gai du tout!

Hello Everyone!
After I recently switched to Debian I had the problem that only one Application could use my speakers at the same time, and that the microphone was not working. I tried to fix it with HowTos from the www without really knowing what I was doing. Now I have no Sound at all. Under Ubuntu 10.10 everything was working (though the micro was a bit quiet).
I'm using Debian 6 with Xfce and Lxde on a Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop.
