Hello folks,
So after a bit of searching for a new home for Allegro's mailing lists,
I settled upon TuxFamily (https://www.tuxfamily.org/), a nice France
based FOSS hosting site. It seems moderately active, and has some
reasonably big projects hosted on it (e.g. Eigen). It's perhaps more
active than GNA ever was.
The new mailing list address is allegro-developers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
courtesy of Elias's help. Hopefully if we ever move mailing lists again
at least we won't have to change the address. You can sign up for it
here:
https://listengine.tuxfamily.org/lists.liballeg.org/allegro-developers/
(and please do, I think we might end up turning on moderation for
non-members; it is open for now though).
(Actually, I could perhaps migrate people who are subscribed over at
GNA.org, but perhaps this should be opt in? Either way, I don't have
access to the GNA.org admin interface. Along the same lines, I probably
can't close the GNA's mailing list, so we'll have to shepherd the
stragglers over to TuxFamily).
Also, for the actual developers, it's probably a good idea to make an
account at TuxFamily, in case there's any bus-related accidents.
Either way, they imported our archives so everything is in one place.
It's not mailman anymore, but the software they use seems to do its job.
In terms of the rest of the stuff hosted on GNA (e.g. the downloads)
some of it will be migrated over to TuxFamily, while the rest (the
release archives/binaries) I'll probably move over to GitHub.
