I've attached the output of evtest (not evtest-capture, let me know if
you need it). The mouse somehow has two input device files associated
with it, /dev/input/event2 and /dev/input/event3.
event3 makes no sense, and has an absolute axis which would be tripping
up your heuristics. It seems the same thing occurs with other mice[1].
I suggest you rip off SDL's equivalent function, which has a few more
checks to it.
